COVID-19

Returning to In-person Worship

The Covid -19 pandemic has created many challenges for our world and certainly for all churches. If at any time you or your family feels the need of special prayer as we continue to deal with the aftermath of this pandemic please email our prayer ministry at contact@shawtemple.org and let us know. We want to pray with you and for you.

For months, leaders at Shaw Temple have been meeting with Pastor Morrison on when and how we would return to in-person worship. We’ve been preparing for you. We have adopted a Covid-19 relaunch plan to minimize risk and maximize safety. If you would like to read the full plan please email our church office at contact@shawtemple.org and we will send it to you.

  1. We ask that everyone wear a mask covering their nose and mouth.
Wearing a mask is one of the best ways to keep others safe. We understand that wearing a mask is uncomfortable, but as Jesus showed us that being uncomfortable is sometimes the best way to show love to your neighbors. Shaw Temple is a church where we are willing to sacrifice our comfort for the wellbeing of our neighbors. This is why we ask all people to wear a mask. The only exception to this are those actively serving in the worship experience.
  2. You are welcome to continue to worship from home.
Not everyone feels comfortable at this time to wear a mask and sit through a worship service. We invite you to worship via our e-campus. We are making significant upgrades to our audiovisual equipment in an effort to serve those who will worship and grow in relationship with Christ from home. Please be patient with us as we go where we’ve never gone before in virtual worship in an effort to keep everyone connected. Pastor Morrison has adopted the goal of whether couch or pew we want to be the church for you.
  3. We are starting with worship only.
In this process of returning to in-person worship, our only indoor activity will be our worship services at 8am and 10:45am.
Bible study, small group ministries, and meetings will remain online until further notice.
  4. Be sure to connect with us virtually
